Free Art Events for Communities in Oregon
Art events are an important part of our mission to provide free art instruction and literacy to children. Through events in schools, libraries and other locations, we can educate and inspire kids and build a sense of community. Golden Road Arts regularly partners with Northwest organizations to produce engaging and creative experiences for K-5 kids.
Get Creative With Art Events for Kids
Art is a broad subject that is suitable for many types of events. Our founder, Barbara Mason, teaches the fundamentals of printmaking in both online and in-person events. With her lifelong passion for printmaking, Barbara’s in-person demos bring the creative process to life and regularly ignite an interest in other styles of art.
Another Oregon artist, Martin Conley, uses wood sculpture, painting and photography to create unique and intuitive artworks. During the 2021 Washington County Open Studios Tour, he provided wood carvings of chickens for local community members to paint.
Northwest schools trying to inspire an interest in art among their elementary and middle school children will benefit from live demonstrations. Our classroom lessons are fun for kids, while also helping them develop valuable skills that can stay with them for life.
Partner With Golden Road Arts to Promote Art Education
Golden Road Arts is proud to partner with local organizations to deliver art education for children. We host events with schools, libraries and community groups to bring our digital art lessons to life. Our lessons frequently inspire curiosity and ignite a love for art, following state educational guidelines throughout.
We also maintain a partnership with the Hillsboro Library Summer Reading Program. The 17-event Library on the Loose program, in conjunction with our Free Art in the Park events, promotes summer reading and art education for adults and children. Golden Road Arts partnered with the library to deliver art workshops inspired by popular children’s books selected for each event.
Golden Road Arts is proud to partner with Beaverton’s Community Band for the Summer Concerts in the Park Series in Hillsboro, Oregon. This collaboration will bring free art activities and projects to attendees at three Beaverton parks during the band’s performances. Conducted by Martin Sobilman and featuring vocalist Lisa Neher, the concerts will include food carts and various activities, making these events perfect for the whole family.
